How to Set Custom Paper Size for Thermal Printers

This article walks you through configuring a printer in Windows to use a custom paper size (72 x receipt), commonly required for thermal printing in Weighsoft.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Note: These changes are made on the PC into which the printer is plugged, rather than any changes with Weighsoft itself.

Access Printing Preferences

  1. Click the Start button and type Control Panel.

  2. In the top-right corner, change View by to either Small icons or Large icons.

  3. Double-click Devices and Printers.

  4. Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.

  5. Click on Advanced....

  6. Under Paper Size, select or enter 72 x receipt.

  7. Click OK, then click OK again to save changes.

Update Printer Properties

  1. Return to Devices and Printers.

  2. Right-click on the printer and select Printer Properties.

  3. Click Preferences..., then Advanced....

  4. Change the Paper Size to 72 x receipt.

  5. Click OK, then click OK again.

Set Printing Defaults

  1. In Printer Properties, go to the Advanced tab.

  2. Click Printing Defaults....

  3. Click Advanced... and change the Paper Size to 72 x receipt.

  4. Click OK, then OK, and OK again to confirm.
