Within Simply Postcode
The first thing you will need to do is go to simply postcodes website (www.simplypostcode.com) in order to create an account and go to buy a license. You will be given an option of “Web Site” or “Internal” licenses – select the Internal option.
You will then be given an option which package to purchase.
Full address will return all the address details.
Street Level will only return partial details
We suggest the Full Address package as that will pull through all the address details when the postcode is entered into Weighsoft. You will then be required to buy credits for postcode searches. How many you purchase is up to you and your business - it will vary depending on how many postcode lookups you anticipate carrying out each month.
Once you have purchased a license the landing page when logging in will change, showing how many credits you have left of the pack you purchased.
Go to the "My Data Keys" tab on the page and make a note of the "Internal Use" data key.
Within Weighsoft
The next step is to enter the details of your account into Weighsoft to link the two system.
Login to Weighsoft and to Administration, then click on Settings, then General. Then select the "postcode Lookups" link at the top of the screen.
In the Postcode Lookups section follow the below steps to link your Simply postcode account:
Tick the "Enable" option
Select "Simply Postcode" from the "type" drop down menu
Select license level you bought from the "Simply Postcode Type drop down (Full Address or Street level)
Enter the following into the URL box: http://www.simplylookupadmin.co.uk
Enter the "Internal use" data key from Simply Postcode into the "Data Key" section
Go to the top of the settings screen and click on "Save"
Notes: There is no need to enter a password for Simply Postcode - this is used for other postcode lookup systems.
To test the link, go to create a new address or order. Where you previously had the address fields you will now only see a "postcode" field and a "Find Address" link.
Enter a valid postcode and click on the Find Address link - if the account is setup correctly then you will be presented with a list of address options.
