Overview
Accounts in Weighsoft have a series of "Reference" fields located in the "Notes" tab. The "Reference 1" to "Reference 4" fields are customizable plain text fields that can be used to record any additional information relevant to the account. This article explains how to rename these fields to suit your business needs.
Steps to Rename an "Reference" Fields
Hover over Administration.
Click on Settings.
Select the General tab.
Select the Account section
Locate the setting labelled Ext Reference 1 Name (or Reference 2, etc.).
Replace the default name with your desired label (e.g., Priority Customer).
Click Save at the top of the screen.
Important Notes
The new label will appear on all current and future Accounts.
These fields are plain text only β they cannot:
Display dropdown lists.
Automatically pull data from other parts of the system.
The field name is universal across all accounts.
You cannot set different names for different accounts.
Changing the name in Settings will update the label on every Account in the system.
