Overview
The Environment Agency (EA) has released version 17 of the Quarterly Returns form. This version is not currently supported in existing versions of Weighsoft. Support for the new form will be introduced in an upcoming software release.
Current Status
The EA Quarterly Returns form v17 has been released.
Weighsoft does not currently utilise this new version.
The issue has been escalated and is actively being worked on by the development team.
Planned Resolution
Support for the EA Quarterly Returns v17 form will be included in Weighsoft version 5.540.
This version is scheduled for release in May.
Why the New Form Cannot Be Added to Older Versions
The v17 Quarterly Returns form introduces:
New and updated EWC code wording
Specific system codes required to validate and process the form correctly
These changes do not exist in current versions of Weighsoft. As a result:
The new form cannot be manually added or retrofitted into older versions.
The required EWC codes and wording must be built directly into the Weighsoft system.
These updates can only be deployed through a full software upgrade to the relevant version.
Required Action
To use the EA Quarterly Returns form v17:
Customers must upgrade to Weighsoft version 5.540 or later once it is released.
