Note: Due to Text Marketer using TSL 1.2, the messages will not send out if you are running a version of Weighsoft lower than 5.486.
Create a Text Marketer account
To create an account with Text Marketer, you can do this via their website: https://www.textmarketer.co.uk. Click Sign Up, then follow the prompts to get your account up and running.
As part of your account, you need to purchase credits in order to send messages. Text Marketer sets the tariffs and price plans and you can view them on their website (https://www.textmarketer.co.uk/bulk-sms-prices/).

To log in:
Click Account Settings (Top right of site), then click API Config.
Within the API Username and Password section, copy these details as will need to be entered within Weighsoft.
Weighsoft 5 Text Marketer setup
Within Weighsoft:
Hover over Administration, then click Settings.
Click General, then click SMS Provider.
Fill in the fields in the table below:
Enable | Determines whether SMS system is active or not. |
URL | |
Username | The API username from the Text Marketer website. |
Password | The API password from the Text Marketer website. |
Msg from | The name that appears as the sender on your customer's mobile device. |
You can also specify when the system sends messages out by ticking the relevant boxes. The messages themselves need to have templates set up. To do this, continue to the next section.
If you cannot find the API details you will need to call Text Marketer themselves - they will be able enable the API on your account and provide the details.
SMS Templates
Before any messages can be sent out, you will need to set up the templates that are used for each message. To set these up:
Hover over Administration, then click Alerts.
Click Customer on the left of the screen, then scroll down to the SMS section.
Click +, then complete the specific message you wish to enable or edit.
To activate the message, click Send SMS.
In the message field, enter the text you want to be part of the message. The @ tags on the screen are used as placeholders and are populated each message. For example: Using the @Jobno tab makes the ticket number appear in the message.
Note: Each message has a maximum limit of 160 characters (Including spaces). This also includes what characters the tags produce.
