Overview
When a new item or ticket is entered at the weighbridge, the operator selects the product from a pop-up selection list. The Use Weighbridge product via outlet for new items pop search setting determines the contents of this list.
When enabled: The selection list is filtered according to the outlet (depot/site) in use. Where an outlet is associated with a limited range of materials, only the relevant products are presented, rather than the full product range. Where an outlet has been configured with a defined list of permitted products, only those products are displayed. Where customers are required to use specific order numbers, the setting can also display the associated order number alongside each product to support correct selection.
When disabled: The selection list reverts to a standard, generic product list, determined solely by whether the transaction relates to material coming in or going out. The outlet's configured activity or permitted-product list is not taken into account, meaning any product may be selected, including those not applicable to that site.
Note: where the "Limit Products to Account Priced" setting is enabled, it takes precedence, and this setting is disregarded.
In summary: when enabled, the selection list is restricted to products relevant to the outlet in use; when disabled, the full general product list is presented. This setting is intended to reduce product selection errors at busy weighbridges.
By default, outlets allow all products to show in the Weighbridge selection list that match the outlet's activity code and products with code 'S'. In some scenarios, it is necessary to expand the list to include some or all products, regardless of this, or to restrict the list to a fixed set of codes.
If you have the setting Use Weighbridge product via outlet for new items pop search enabled (found in settings, Weighbridge tab, main subsection) overriding the default behavior of an outlet is done by:
Hover over Administration and click Lookups
Click on Outlets
Edit the outlet
Under the products list are two settings: Limit weighbridge product pop selection and Exclude Activity Type.
To expand the list to include all activities, tick Exclude Activity Type. To refine the types of products to a specific list, select the products from the list above, then tick Limit weighbridge product pop selection.
If you wish to have a restricted list of products with a mixture of activity types, both the above settings must be enabled. Once configured, click Save.
