Weighsoft provides flexible options for creating and managing products. You can either copy an existing product or create a new one from scratch, depending on your needs.
Copying an Existing Product
The quickest way to create a new product is by duplicating an existing one and editing the relevant fields.
Steps:
Navigate to Administration β Lookups.
Select Products.
Locate the product you want to copy and click the Copy icon.
Make the necessary changes.
Click Create in the top-right corner.
Creating a New Product
When creating a new product, there are several fields available. Below are the most commonly used options.
Steps:
Navigate to Administration β Lookups.
Select Products.
Click Add a New Item.
Fill in the following fields:
Field | Description |
Code | Unique identifier for the product. |
Description | Full description of the product. |
Activity | Determines how the product is used. |
Group | Optional. Links the product to a product group. |
VAT Code | Determines the VAT rate applied. |
Vehicle Type | Optional. Specifies applicable vehicle type. |
Companies | Restricts product availability to selected companies. |
Default Unit | Sets the default unit of sale. |
Waste Type | Indicates if the product is a waste type. |
Hazardous | Flags the product as hazardous. |
Product Component | Marks the product as a component for Advanced Waste reports. |
Push to Handheld | Makes the product available in the Weighsoft mobile app. |
Recycled / Energy Recovered | Sets recycling values for Advanced Waste reports. |
EWC Codes | Waste classification code (Environment Agency). |
State | Required for Waste Return Report (e.g., solid, liquid, gas). |
π Tip: For any waste-type product, itβs recommended to select Product Component.
Click Create to save the new product.
