Unable to post to Xero - "Item Codes Missing For Post" error

Overview

When posting invoices from Weighsoft to Xero, the system checks that all products on the invoice exist in Xero. If an invoice contains a product that does not exist in Xero, you will receive the following error: "Item Codes Missing For Post"

This error means that one or more products on the invoice are missing from Xero and cannot be mapped.


How to Add Missing Products to Xero

To resolve this error, follow these steps to add the missing product(s) to Xero:

  1. Hover on Administration

  2. Click on System Settings

  3. Click on Functions.

  4. Click on Finance at the top of the screen

  5. Scroll down until you see the Xero section.

You will see an empty field with a link labelled Add product Code to Xero.

  1. Click in the box and select the product that needs to be added to Xero

  2. Click on the Add Product to Xero link
