Using the Alt-J Functionality

Written by Phil Whitehead

The Alt-J Functionality is designed to create a skip job that is out of flow (for example, an exchange after a collection). This function ignores all out of flow safeguard protects and as such should only be used where the last job type is incorrect, blocking the correct flow of behaviour.

Enabling Alt-J

To enable this function:

  • Hover Over Administration and clicking Settings

  • Click Skips and Roros

  • Navigate to the Other section under Main

  • Enable Allow ALT - J

  • Click Save

In addition, there is also the setting Restrict ALT - J to Admin to control out of flow job creation to administrators.

Using Alt-J

When on a skip order, pressing Alt-J on the keyboard will open the out of flow job selection panel:

From here select the job type you wish to raise.

Note: Any jobs created using Alt-J will have the marker "AJ-" placed before the name of the user who created the job for auditing purposes.
