There are two methods to resetting a portal password for either an internal user or a customer.
Method 1 – Resetting the password from the login screen.
After navigating to your Portal underneath the Login button is a “forgotten your password?” option.
Click Forgotten Your Password?
Enter in Customer Email Address
Click Reset Password
Method 2 – Resetting the password from Weighsoft Web Portal Users
In order to progress through this method you must have the Manage Web Portal Users permission enabled for your user account in Weighsoft.
Hover over Administration
Click on Lookups
Click on Web Portal Users
Select the relevant Username from the email drop down menu
Click Password Reset
For each of these methods, the email is sent using the SMTP details set up in your Portal.
If the user works for the Company who raised the case, they will probably need access to all accounts in the portal.
To do this, the portal user should be made a Web Portal Admin.
In Weighsoft.
Hover over Administration
Click Admin Functions
Click Portal
Enter the users email address in the Username Field under Make Web Portal User Admin section
Click Change
If the User is a customer, they will need to have accounts added to the Login.
In Weighsoft
Hover over Administration
Click on Lookups
Click on Web Portal Users
Select the relevant Username from the email drop down menu
With Type set to Standard, Click in the Account field and select the required account.
Click Add
Repeat as required.
